Description
While I was going through the teaching collection in the vertebrate paleontology collections room where I work, I came across this handsome little lady (yes, the label said that the skull came from a female). She is from the recent collection, so is not fossilized at all.
I think what drew me to photograph her, was that she is a primate, an evolutionary relative of humans. The similarities, and differences, between her and us are not all visible in this photo, but enough are there to provoke thought.
I've no clue what is in her nose, but it was solid so I didn't want to mess with it as it may be holding parts of her together.
Oh, what is she you ask?
She is a tarsier.
