This pattern I designed on my double heddle graph paper ( [link] ) to look like a finger woven piece. (Similar to [link] ) The way it looks is the "old" or old fashioned part. The way I'm weaving it, and that it's a new pattern for me, is the "new" part.

Edit: New photo of the finished piece showing the (too short in my opinion) fringe.

The warp threads are what you see and are Red Heart brand yarn. The weft threads that go back and forth (you don't see much, except in spots on the back) are some leftover Rayon that was on the shuttle from a previous weaving.
Weaving with a thinner weft thread makes it a much tighter weave than my other double heddled patterns, by nearly 16% more passes per length.

That's kinda what I was hoping. Despite it being (ack)acrylic.

That is utterly amazing - I don't even know where to begin with weaving, but I love seeing it!

As far as weaving it goes, the pattern was a Hard one for warping. If I were to tell you how I warped it it would be a list of colors and number of colors, similar to a knit or crochet pattern, that would be warped on a double heddle setup. But if you want, I could do that.
